Where Two Oceans Meet

Two Oceans Aquarium, Cape Town

There are many fascinating sea creatures in the waters of South Africa.   This is because the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet along the southern cape.

The two oceans differ in temperature so massive currents form.  This yields a diverse and unusual array of fish in a relatively small geographic area.

BG and I toured the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town.  One side features fish from the Atlantic with Indian Ocean creatures on the other.  I was amazed by the diversity of fish (and no, I can’t remember the name of the guy in the picture!).

There is a lot to write about South Africa’s oceans - history of, creatures in, and dangers found…Stay tuned for more posts!
